HANS ROSLING IN NEPAL-- Investing for Children

There are lots of amazing people in this world and it's good to see what they are doing to make this world a better place.I often watch to Ted Talkvideos where people with good and unique ideas share or present their ideas and talent to world.

One of the person who have been in the Ted talk for a many times is Professor Hens Rosling. It's terrific how amazingly he presents the world's data and present his amazing view or prospect that will surely surprise everyone. In his younger year he worked as medical doctor in Africa and had travelled many parts of the world and still travels now to talk on different topics.

Finally after 41 years Prof. Hans is back in Nepal.Yesterday August 7 he was able to present his data analysis and views of Nepal with regards to rest of the world. It is encouraging how Nepal is improving in the social sector like for example the mortality rate is now 2 percent equal to so called developed and rich countries.Though economic sector is still slow but it will catch up as well and to understand it we have to watch the video which I will post below.Try to watch his other videos in Youtube it's interesting mainly his documentary called Rosling world.I was amazed by the end of the video.Need to watch till the end to be amazed.
Enjoy watching :)

Deforestation and the disappearance of the natural species

As far as I am concerned about the environment that all the natural species plants and animals are to be protected for the existence of  planet including the human race itself.
By the time I am writing this blog ,I am sad by what I saw around during my visits last week. The Kingfisher that used to live near by the river and can be found most of the time there have moved from there already somewhere else to be not found anymore. The location which used to be wet-land and where the rare bird like "Kaleez" can be found drinking water in the small pond is already destroyed for constructing road. The increasing destruction of forest and land plotting for housing and making new roads is making all the birds to run away. Luckily, I found that Kaleez near by the small forest of the temple but she sound agitated as she used to walk around calmly in that wet land before. Most of the birds are now concentrated in the only thick small forest that is under protection of the temple. Thanks for this small forest belonging to this Temple :).

The plotting of new land for housing purpose.
Road Construction and destruction of rice fields
Increasing of  plastic trashes in the Forest

Plastic are the great source of pollution if thrown anywhere as it's not degradable making the environment polluted and affecting even the plants around to grow well. The forest is the source of water and such behaviour of people throwing plastic trashes around will no doubt affect the water source. Worst the water source will dry up and sad to say that one of the water source already dried up in past year.

After I was done walking and analyzing the environmental situation around,I stood in one place and viewed this area one more time from far and I pictured the future.I got sad realizing that without this forest (trees, birds, rice paddies etc),the place looked very ugly to me that literally I couldn't breath.

At the end,I have come to conclusion that, it is  urgent to do something to stop this place to look more uglier and protect the forest,species and even water source upon which most of the people are dependent.We must do following basic and simple things already;
Firstly,to stop polluting the forest furthermore by throwing those trashes there and clean those plastics which are present now.
Secondly,to plant more trees and also take good care of it by the whole community.Well, this community needs some awareness otherwise some hard rule if doesn't work!!!!

Some quotes:-
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.  ~Thomas Fuller

Previously the water source now some moisture only.
it's drying up soon.
"What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

It's Summer 2013 in Kathmandu

After many years of enjoying Summer in Philippines exploring new beaches and enjoying(snorkling, swimmng etc) popular beaches, I am here in Kathmandu back in my country this time.
The climate here is hotter too as of today, the temperature at the day time is up to 31 degree centigrade which is quite higher comparing to few years back as  I remember .It's all the effect of what they called "Climate Change."
Anyways, still inside the house we don't need fan as it's cooler inside and the wind too.Mainly in my area where there are lots of trees and water sources,it's cooler.Because of the wet land areas and the river near by there are varieties of birds we can see around here including beautiful King Fisher.
From early in the morning till the dark we can  hear the Summer bird "Koheli" singing Ku hu Ku Hu or cook ku Cook ku and also can hear other birds singing as well.
So,for a  nature lover like me this place is joyful.I have realized if there were no trees around here this wouldn't be possible as it is the good source of water.
I have spent past two months morning and evening time taking care of the small plants around the jungle which were planted by the people from Local Church I guess or they were the main part in this. But now I notice no one is there taking care of these plants.Plants are drying and some are pulled off already. Some big pine trees are also cut down. So,thirty minutes of my time in the morning exercise was to pull off the extra unwanted plants and dig around the small plants or tree (planted a year back i guess) , surround them with stones and sticks.
While I am doing  this,my Australian Shepherd dog is shouting at me as I tied him in one place for long time while I was doing this haha :)).Another time I will write about my dog. :)
To my surprise after two days of raining ,I saw some new green leaves around half of the plants. It was a joyful moment for me . Little things makes me happy.I pray that they will grow well and also other plants will survive this summer.I also hope that people will realize the importance of these trees and clean environment around as I see lot of trashes plastics thrown around. Some of the water sources are drying slowly which the local use for drinking and daily washing. If locals don't realize this there will be no more water left for them and those birds will slowly disappear as well.
